How To Root Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505

Root Galaxy S4 On Android 4.2.2



Samsung Galaxy S4 rooted! CF-Auto-Root process by Chainfire still seems to be working to root Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 (Qualcomm LTE) version, but not the Galaxy S4 Exynos 5 variant. Be sure that your Samsung Glaxy S4 GT-I9505 model is running the XXUAMD2 firmware because the method was tested to be working on this specific firmware. Make sure to checkout Galaxy S4 specs. Prerequisites to Root Your Galaxy S4
§  Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-19505 running XXUAMD2 firmware.
§  Kies installed for USB drivers.
How to Root Galaxy S4 Procedure:
1.    To begin the rooting process, download root package and extract its contents.
2.    Download ODIN and runt it.
3.    Hit the ‘PDA’ button and select the ‘.tar.md5’ extension file from thw folder that you extracted in first step. Make sure ‘Repartition’ is unchecked.
4.    Put your Samsung Galaxy S4 in Download mode;
Download Mode instructions: Disconnect your phone from PC and turn it off.  Now hold down the Volume Down + Home + Power buttons together. As soon as the phone boots, release the power button and follow any on-screen instructions.
5.    Now connect the phone to the PC, and once ODIN successfully detects the device, hit the ‘Start’ button to begin the flashing process.
6.    That is it! Once the root package is flashed, you should see a red Android on the screen when Galaxy S4 is booting up. IF the red Android doesn’t appear, you’ll have to put your Galaxy S4 into recovery mode once to trigger it manually;
Recovery Mode instructions: Disconnect your phone from PC and turn it off.  Now hold down the Volume Up + Home + Power buttons together. As soon as the phone boots, release the power button and follow any on-screen instructions.
