Samsung
and Android.''Smartphones Updated x4''
Today, as we all know Android is one of the best operating
systems available in the market. It was backed up financially by Google in it's
early stages of development. Later on, after finding the results impressive it
was bought by Google. Since then, Android is the most popular platform for
mobile software developers.
Samsung has certainly earned its success. You can’t
begrudge it that. The company has out-executed other Android device makers in
both hardware design and software enhancements. The bottom line is that Samsung
and Google forged an Android alliance that successfully stemmed Apple’s momentum
in mobile devices. Ironically, it was very similar to the way Intel and Windows
stemmed Apple’s momentum in personal computers a generation ago. And, let’s not
forget that Samsung is also the Leading Seller in the Android Tablet
Market and the leading laptop seller in the Google Chromebook market. The
Google-Samsung combination is the most potent new partnership in computing and
it is putting tremendous competitive pressure on Apple and Microsoft. But, can
the partnership hold together? There are several competing interests that are
driving a wedge between the two companies, as is common with these types of
partnerships. However, in this case, the future of both companies in the mobile
business as well as the overall health of the Android ecosystem itself is at
stake.
HTC, LG, Motorola and others offer Android
smartphones, but none has had nearly the success that Samsung has. During the
fourth quarter of 2012, Samsung controlled 43 percent of the Android market and
overall aggressively outsold all competitors, Apple included.
Besides money, Samsung’s domination
of Android may yield other benefits. “Samsung has strong market power and it
may use this position to influence the future direction of the Android
ecosystem,”For example, Samsung could request first or exclusive updates of new
software from Android before rival hardware vendors.Besides money, Samsung’s domination

Samsung's resources and reach are
advantages that "no other competitor can easily match," Analyst
Anshul Gupta added that, with the next-place Android vendor holding just a 6
percent share, "the Android brand is being overshadowed by Samsung brand,
with the Galaxy name nearly a synonym for Android phones in consumers' mind
share."
But one cant deny..it's the best
partnership in recent times,I would say '' a decade''.!!!
