DiD YoU KnOw ??

On average, there are about 6 billion cell phone calls and over 200 trillion text messages sent a day in the United States. While people are making calls and texting they probably don’t stop and think about their phones. For Android users, there are some interesting facts about your phone that you may not have known. How did they get started? What makes them run? What do people use them for the most, besides texting? Also, do I fit the demographic for this particular phone or model? These questions have some interesting answers.

Android wasn’t made by Google
Android was actually developed buy the company Android, Inc. in Palo Alto, California. The company was established in October 2003 by founders Andy Rubin, Chris White, Nick Sears, and Rich Miner. Their reason for starting the company and developing Android was to create a smart mobile device that was more aware of the user’s wants, preferences, and location. However, despite the accomplishments of the founders and employees, they ran out of money for development. On August 17, 2005, Google acquired Android, Inc. and its employees causing many people to think Google was going to try their hand at the mobile market. The assumptions were true and in September 2007 Google reported a patent for mobile technology.
The first Android phone was the HTC G1.
The very first phone to be released using Google’s Android Operating System was the HTC Dream, also known as the T-Mobile G1. This model of HTC phones was the first phone that was launched to compete with Apple’s iPhone. The HTC Dream was officially released in the United States and the United Kingdom in October of 2008 and was later released to other European countries in 2009. Now, Android runs on about 109 different phones, 80 tablets, and a 6 eReaders, which is a lot of mobile devices that rely on this Operating system, compared to the 5 iPhones, 4 iPods, and 3 iPads that run on the iOs.
