Android Evolution (cupcake
to Jellybean)
I have used
four of the Android versions including their new update to Jellybean 4.2 and i
must say Jellybean is by far the most impressive development in Android version
history. Since the release of this update, many developers worldwide have begun
working on it and trying to tweak it further. Many released their custom ROMS or
alterated/customised jellybean updates of 4.1 and 4.2. These customs ROMS are
quite impressive and they can even manage your smartphone better by improving
the battery life, contain custom launchers to improve the look and User
Interface etc.
But i strictly recommend you stay with the genuine Android update as i have tested many altered versions of some developers. Some of them work fine while most of these ROMS have different bugs and issues regarding the Smartphones speed, battery life and language.

The version
history of the Android Mobile Operating System began with the release
of the Android beta in November 2007. The first commercial version, Android
1.0, was released in September 2008. Android is under ongoing development by Google and the Open Handset Alliance (OHA), and has seen a number of
updates to its base operating system since its original release.
Since April
2009, Android versions have been developed under a codename or I believe they are named
after desserts and sweets released in alphabetical order: Cupcake, Donut,
Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, and Jelly Bean. As
of 2013, over 900 million active devices use the Android OS worldwide.
Jellybean 4.2 was a great update tweaking many new settings, looks and performance. The
most recent major Android update was Jelly Bean 4.3, which was released on
commercial devices on 24 July 2013. The first Android phone was HTC-G1.
